About the levels , it will not be something you forced to pass through , you have the choice to upgrade the relation (maybe with some special options you can get) ,,

Otherwise you can have sex with whoever you want , not related to the level in between

Yeah that would be really useful some ppl i know have 50-60 lists that would really help and about the thing of relation level i say yes to have a relation with....a guy i like :3
