À mon Amour (a poem in french)

I hesitated for a good while before posting this.

Like all of us here, I have a real life outside of the game and the forum... and I am privileged to have a wonderful mate at my side. It is only fair that she gets to be my Muse too, from time to time.

A bit of warning... I reveal a lot about myself in this poem. I'm a little frightened it will scare away (or disappoint) some of my friends here. If it does, I will respect their decision to cut all ties with me.

Here goes...

J’oublie souvent combien tu es exceptionnelle,
D’une grande ouverture d’esprit, tolérante
Aux différences; révélant une si belle
Imagination ô combien surprenante
 
     Dans tes propos quotidiens, tout en demeurant
     Pratique, efficace et toujours rationnelle…
     À mes yeux ces atouts, ces charmes sont autant
     De raisons de te trouver, mon amour, plus belle
 
Que jamais, et de mesurer combien je suis
Privilégié de t’avoir, toi, à mes côtés;
De pouvoir compter sur toi, le jour et la nuit,
D’être la mère de notre enfant adoré…
 
     Je t’aime tant, n’en doute pas un seul instant
     Je t’aime telle que tu es, mon cher amour;
     Si tu veux bien me supporter encor longtemps
     Je serai à toi, maintenant et pour toujours.
