Not entirely correct, but that's the gist of it. Shadowrunners aren't a single organized group under a single leader, they are simply mercenaries working for their own goal, be it money vengeance or the sheer fuck of it all. Corps aren't exactly an organized force either, there are hundreds of different corporations all around the world with varying amounts of power and influence. These are measured in ratings, from unrated (influence over the local region or maybe city) to AAA (worldwide influence) there exist only 10 AAA Corps (aptly named The Big Ten. Incidentally, Saeder Krupp is one of them, which is why our little group was worried for their lives) that being said, they aren't exactly the bad guys...they just are most of the time.

So, the world is in constant turbulence because each faction (be it gang, corp or cult) wants to get to the top. So the constant shifts in power keep everything moving
