Ugh, sorry 'bout the font chummers, blame the phone, not me.
Nuyen is pretty much an international currency and Yen don't exist anymore, so I think it was OK shortening nuyen to Yen.
I won't tell you who plays which member of the team, although that can get pretty obvious at times.
If you feel lost in the universe, I might consider telling you about my one and only DnD campaign, it's about a crazy barbarian who set himself on fire before charging the enemy headfirst
OK, so here is a short rundown on the universe.
Around the year 2011, the magical world has returned to ours, this event is known as the Awakening, when a whole bunch of people suddenly found themselves to possess magical powers. In the next few years, around 25℅ of the world has received rapid mutations, (rapid as in, turned right in front of people's eyes) transforming them into Metahumans (there are about 4 types of Metahuman Elf, Dwarf, Orc and Troll) these transformations are known as goblinization. People who remained human decided to be rather racist towards the metas, so riots happened after they were granted human rights. Blahblahblah
After some time, a whole bunch of things happen and now we live in a world ruled by megacorporations, only a few break free from the life of a corporate wageslave and burn their SIN (Serial Identification Number) living a life of crime in the Shadows. We are known as Shadowrunners, guns for hire and criminals, a truly unstoppable force. We're playing 3rd edition, somewhere in the year 2076, so there is acess to quite a range of cyberware, tech and magic, all of which you'll find out about later.
Oh yeah, I'll tell you a little about classes too. There are five main classes,
Street Samurai - this is usually the front line fighter of your group, carrying enough lead and chrome to make a stand against a small platoon. (Not really, their essence will be shredded, but you get the point)
Decker - A hacker, skilled in surfing the matrix and stealing as much data as possible before selling it off at the closest Datahaven, out of the matrix a Decker usually acts as a slightly weaker Sam.
Rigger - the dronemaster, fights by utilizing deadly combat drones to support the rest of the squad. That or he specialises in driving the squad around.
Shaman - one of the mages, focuses on using charisma to convince magical spirits to fight for him, usually less of an asshole than the mage
Mage - uses pure willpower to throw raw magic at their enemies, the spirits don't like them, but they are invaluable assets to a team.
There are also subclasses like Investigator, Infiltrator, Face and Mechanic, but that's more to do with that characters specialisations.
Anyway, hope this helps you out a little.
