Strange : I use chrome and for me the forum background color is white... so black is the best police... but if you have purple... Red maybe?

That peculiar indeed (I'm on Chrome too); please tell me how you managed to select something different than the default, dark purple background? (ADDENDUM - just found out how to do it...)
