My First Day
#21
(02-18-2016, 10:46 AM)Sharpey Wrote: My first days were spent just trying to have as much virtual sex as possible. I was there from the start, accepting colds, 'enjoying' the silent clicking. It wasn't until a couple of weeks had gone by that I really began socialising. But when I did, I was welcomed readily by a large group of friends, some of whom have since flown the nest, others I am still very close to, not just within MnF anymore.

As such, I do my best to be welcoming to the new players, so long as they try to be a part of the community. Many stand around, silent, but there is no knowing their reasons for that. I see no point in trying to make anybody feel unwelcome, only those that make a clear effort to annoy, abuse or offend other players.

Sadly Kyrios, your story is something I have seen far too often, and other scenes similar. As Emmie said, we all mistakes, but we do learn, or at least most of us do. And I'm glad you gave the Alley a second chance.

Good riddance indeed.

Back to the topic at hand... Discovering the club is just the first step; newcomers are a bit overwhelmed with all the game features and have to learn as they go - especially men, who often send cold invites at first because they don't know any better. Emmie, (or was it Lucy?) do you remember when I suggested a "MnF Club for Dummies" manual somewhere on anther thread?  Wink

Those who concentrate on the game and avoid the forum are missing a lot... this is the place to discover all of you wonderful people. That's the second step; socializing and joining circles of friends with similar minds and values. The downside of this, however, is that the heart often get in the way of the loins, so to speak. I'm sure you feel the same from time to time - there are nights I just want to talk about anything and everything, and virtual sex is neither sought nor... accepted (yes, I have refused cold invites once or twice, because I had this wonderful chat with a close friend).

I've refused colds and even quite polite written requests cause I was standing the bridge with you and/or George, Ivan. This game is about far more than digital sex.

*bro hug*

Truer words were never spoken, my friend. That bridge is fast becoming a very special spot.

Pondering on the bridge, standing above the pond,
Brothers in arms reminesce and exchange stories;
Memories and experiences of which we grow fond,
Lost passions and other, best forgotten glories.

Sorry - the words came out almost by themselves. I guess the forum, the game and the community keep inspiring me...   Shy

I still have mixed feelings about those bridges (bad memory), but it is always a nice relaxing time with you guys.
