Economy balance discussion
#11
I feel a bit torn between points that i read here and have talked about in the game over the in game money. How it is earned is to me random as to the amount given to the player for an example i played the 'Glory Hole' mini game and got the same score seven times in a row and I mean same identical score to the last number for example purposes here I got 2400 each time, i put that number up because i lost my scrap paper that i wrote it down one...long story there, and got varied amount of money each time. Out of seven times i never once got the same amount in the time and these were back to back not leaving the mini game menu but choosing play. I have tried solo rodeo many times and just decided that i am just no where near being coordinated enough to play that with the whole balance thing i am the type to trip over air in real life so a game in a game that has me moving my mouse to keep my balance is no where in the realm of possibilities for me at the current moment. Shooting range yea i do not do well with guns in other games so not even near the level to earn enough to make it worth my efforts.

So for me the easiest way to earn money is to do the Glory Hole game and I would be pissed if as some said they capped and divided the game currency that i had earned so I took the original posts meaning as halving the amount earned from these games not the total in every players wallets so to speak. I have danced and like it at times but not enough to 'make a living' at it, I basically do it for fun and if i get money for it good if not alright, auctions never tried nor had an opportunity to do them in MNF have in another game though and was alright but not really done it then for the currency. Suppose one can say that i am an enigma on in game cash oO

I feel that exploits do ruin the game but am one of those that has alts, thanks to being a premium, but that is not for financial gain in game but to be different only. I have moods, some call it split personality -shrugs-, that I want to act a bit different and i get into the character of the one I am playing. I do always play my rl age though that stays the same but dunno suppose its easier to say I want to experience things differently than my main character but yet when people find out that i have alt they accuse me of farming with them and that i do not. When it was a character i created and said to myself that i messed something up and do not want to spend the time by earning money on that character I would just delete them and start over but I would go to the club and pick a girl dancing and pop in give her the money and then delete the character and start over so I ask is that alt farming? I do not think so. I do agree though that the economics are a bit heavy sided considering the starting money one has and the amounts earned with the cost of clothes and rooms. When these are taken into account its a wonder that anyone just starting for the first time and not over with a new character just doesn't give up and bum, I feel if they do not do something soon we will see the bane of all mmo players in world and that is currency spammers..you know those people begging in chat for in game currency while selling google pics or other things

I don't really know what to say or feel about this change that the devs decided about.
Indeed, money farming could have been something that was causing in-game economy inflation (!?), though, honestly, I don't know the real impact this thing had on the actual gameplay. Since, beside trading, pole dancing and/or auctions, there wasn't really a way in which the amount of money that one player had, affected the gameplay of another player. Anyways, let me address the issue from a different perspective.

I'm a new player. I start with 0$ as late. Let's say, I want to get a complete outfit, as a non-premium user. The least money I would pay for a complete outfit (hat+glasses+clothes) is 600-700$. That means, like, about 20 minutes worth of runs at Pamela, cause she awards the most money. And those 20 minutes, just for a full outfit, and the cheapest of them. So, if I want to get the most expensive combination of clothes and accessories, would mean about 1500$ or more. That means like, 40-50 minutes worth of doing Pamela runs. And at least for me, that doesn't seem like as relaxing as playing this game should be. And here I won't take in consideration, the real life interuptions that could occur, or the bad combo's, or the missing of customers.

Anyways, to cut it short, if the devs decided to remove the possibility of money farming through alts, at least they should add a really well designed way for a stable income, which would have an at least decent money awarded/time consumed ratio.

As always, this is just my opinion. So, till later, with all due respect,

I agree ! I would never have continued to play this game (and therefore I would not have become premium) if I had been forced to play mini games to make money (and you really earn too little money) . They are annoying, unpleasant and surly.

I do not play a game for it to be annoying and tedious, but to relax and enjoy myself with my friends. I do not want to spend all my time asking for money!

I have a serious question for the devs. Now that you have removed the only effective way to create money, how will the user do it? And do not tell me about escort or pole dance. I ask you how to CREATE money? (Out of playing the smalls mini games).

Because if you stop the 'alt farm', you stop a big part of the financial contribution for dance and auctions (and therefore the money for the premium). You force the user to get money where he does not want to . And the non-premiums will desert the servers, and finally, there will be less ale for the game, which will be perceived as less fun.

So spending time on stripping is equal to nothing, since you believe that all tips only are from alt farming?????
That's what you say.
A few times did I get around 5K for 45 min+ stripping, but rest of times i get maybe 1K.....averange.....for up to maybe 30 min.
Finally is it not one player that drop all tips, but 15-20 different players (5K), who split it between them.
If someone come and drop 10K+ on me, yes, that could be from farming, but I would have no chance to know.

Those that really farm might drop big tips on strippers, but that would probably be in private shows, not so much in stripclub and sure not on random strippers.

Alt Farming was a serious "issue" and by that I mean its a little nuts how much some people actually have. never really bothered me, I only have 70k and that was earned through taking a cut after helping with auctions and saving up like a good boy.
I wouldn't mind if the Prices for clothes stayed the same and the minigames rewards were boosted... or go the other way around, keep the rewards the same but lower the cost for everything...
but I will say this... having alt farming being stopped less than 1 week after micro transactions come out is not a coincidence. and is throughout the gaming industry a terrible, awful practice... I'm just worried that what has happened in the last week will kill this game. ive had at least 8 people telling me they will be leaving for sure. and that's just the ones that have let me personally know. imagine how many more.
I know non prems don't really matter in the "grand scale of MNFclub" but when all the Premium players suddenly find the game less fun, they hand in their lovely gold logo, stop playing the game where they played for fun and friends, and go play a better game.
That means less money for the Devs, Less updates, more Prem players leave, until your stuck with a dead game, and you have to shut it down because your servers are not full, and the game isn't making money.

I think this was a bad idea for the devs because they did not have something to put in to replace the alt-farming. they just removed alt farming all together and although that's a good thing, they didn't have an immediate plan to implement right now such as a new game that balances the time and money earned. I have farmed my alts before because the mini-games were too boring to spend an hour playing them. I liked the idea of throwing a large amount of money and not care because I can make it up the next day. Removing alt farming did make me mad at first but I understood its purpose. However, if the devs don't create a better way for people to earn money and still have fun, this might destroy this game. I think the devs should have had an immediate plan to put into action before they removed alt farming so that the consequences of that action is not as severe as it is now.

I think that removing alt-farming was a great step on the way to balancing stuff, but as others have said they do need to implement other ways to make money. What if one of the new updates contained daily, weekly, and monthly quests, all increasing in difficulty and prizes for how long the deadline is?

I don't know how hard it would be to code, but maybe come up with 5-6 quests for each tier, and randomly rotate them. So like a tier one quest would be "have sex with three people, rounds doesn't matter," and you'd get 100 big ones. A tier two could be a little harder, like "spend 30 rounds in a motel room," and you'd get 500. A tier 3 would be something crazy, like "have 10 threesomes, get a top-15 daily high score in Rodeo, and have sex with 10 people, with at least 3 being of the same sex." The reward would be crazy too, like 5k-10k big ones.

Obviously this would be a massive update, and pretty hard to code but it would help to replace alt-farming with something fun people can do in game, and it would keep people coming back because of completionist psychology.

EDIT: Also this will probably increase the amount of dudes making female avatars so they can sell sex with that avatar to fund their main account. Which isn't too good of a thing.

I feel like I should have added something more. Indeed, I have no problem with devs decision of removing alt farming. Honestly, I haven't did it in a really long time. BUT, once you've removed it, a mini-game should have been prepared, to fill the income spot of this "less legal" way of making money. And by that, I mean a mini-game, which would reward like, around 500$ for 10 minutes of playing. That would be quite resonable for a stable money flow in everyones pockets.

To all the people saying they should have had a back up for making money. they did! they have minigames allready for making money, you can work in the whorehouse too. You are all just mad it isnt as quick and easy as alt farming, wich was never an intended design of the game. The economy will now be what the designers wanted it to be in the first place. Clothes being a status symbol instead of one outfit out of the 500 we buy on a whim.
It will surely take some time before all the people who have saved up millions stpp throwing it around so that the new norm can take place. But with easy moneymaking money looses its value, now its actually a thing you need.

also, why cant non premiums use the bank? its an odd choise to make.
