Hello people,
Please don't hold it against me... but inspiration drives me to write and post, so do forgive me for adding yet another poem to the forum
. As usual, your comments are always welcome.
Together
Sunset is here, setting ablaze the horizon
In hues of saffron and lavender darkening
The skies above. Evening stars alight, whereupon
Shadows secretive and silent start appearing.
My step quickens, my heart soars, overwhelmed with joy
As I hasten forward, imperceptibly drawn
By the siren song of your presence, to enjoy
The impending night, awaiting the coming dawn
Together, my dearest love,
Our two souls rejoined and whole.
Perhaps we shall talk the hours away, walking
Quietly under the cascading waterfall,
Dew-like droplets from the misty haze dampening
Your luscious hair, as your soft-spoken words enthrall
Me completely; perhaps we shall repair instead
To the sandy shores of the lagoon, entering
The surf skyclad, our lover’s lustful embrace led
By the slow, rhythmic tides of the sea, climaxing
Together, my dearest love,
Our two bodies merged as one.
Whether resting in your arms or captivated
By our shared anecdotes, in the throws of passion
Most rewarding, or pulling pranks unabated
On each other, laughing with playful abandon,
Not a day goes by without you occupying
My waking thoughts or deepest dreams; ‘tis destiny,
Mi corazón, and I believe with increasing
Conviction that we are indeed fated to be
Together, my dearest love,
Our two selves truly complete.
