Longing for you - IvanXLIV - 04-25-2016
Spending time away from a love one is not always easy, and is often a significant source of inspiration - here is the result in my case. As always, feel free to comment...
Longing for you
The pale, sandy expanse of the shore streches on,
Narrow ribbon strewn with mementos from the sea
Along which I amble leisurely, thereupon
Enjoying the azure tides’ liquid harmony.
My path grazes the foaming swash of the ocean,
Wet caresses reminiscent of our tender
Lovemaking. A puissant, visceral emotion
Washes all over my heart, so sweet and bitter;
Yearning for you, I lay myself upon the beach
Like discarded flotsam dried up by wind and sun,
The splashing murmur of waves echoing with each
Slow breath I take. I recall figments of dreams spun
From our overwhelming passion, consummated
Under the pallid moonlight as the surf’s cradling
Embrace vainly tried to appease the unsated
Lust suffusing our entwined bodies, soon heaving
With mounting arousal and pleasure unrestrained.
As I lay dreaming of remembered bliss, sunshine
Bathing me with luminous warmth, an unexplained
Shadow casts itself on the spot where I recline;
Disquieted, I look up and behold a sight
Most welcome, dispelling away grief and longing:
There you are, divine apparition true and bright,
Loving soulmate, tender source of joy unending
And shared carnal delight of ecstatic potency.
You lower yourself over my prone form, smiling,
And the universe is made whole again, as we
Join once more, reunited in love unending.
