Two Sonnets and a Stanza - Kyrios - 02-27-2016 So I was thinking about people in my life and I decided to write about three of them. Two who blazed across my mind and delighted my heart, worth the pain of the ending. One who captures my thoughts and my desire now in a way both familiar and novel. A new adventure, with many branching paths into the future. One I look forward to exploring further, as long as she wishes to explore with me. 1998 I met her first, when we were young, We sat and talked all through the night, Our fellow campers were all stunn'd, From sleep they fled, to our words clung, They wondered at us as they might, Of science and art, yet not the heart 2001 I knew her well, when we were young, We sat and talked all through the night, As music pounded all around, I saw the movement of her tongue, She kissed me then, a wondr's light, Affection, passion, fearful heart. 2006 I knew her not, when we were young, Sat and talked the night no more, Our last duet, already sung, Our love shattered to the core. 2009 I met the next, that wondrous smile, We danced close all through the night, Her supple lips, her lightning mind, The way she'd hold me for a while, Drew me deep into love's plight, Let go, gave in, gifted her my heart. 2010 We met again, that wondrous smile, Though distance held us far apart, Water glistened on her skin, She summoned me cross many a mile, She kissed me then, I fell apart, A simple plaything for her heart. 2011 We met once more, that wondrous smile, Her soft sweet passion mine no more, I met her lover, without bile, I wished them joy, and my heart tore. 2016 Now there is one, who makes me feel, There could be something here again, Reckless friendship, mirrored longing, My breath, unused, her words do steal, For now we're friends, now becomes then, Our new adventure just begun. RE: Two Sonnets and a Stanza - Simple Tania - 02-28-2016 and, we have another poet...amazing Kyr, love it RE: Two Sonnets and a Stanza - IvanXLIV - 02-29-2016 The poet's soul was lurking under the gentleman's confidence... oh brother, where were thou? Godspeed on your journey, Kyr, I'm cheering you on; never give up the dream! Ivan (do bro hugs reach out from the land of the Great Mercantile Rodent? I wonder...) RE: Two Sonnets and a Stanza - Kyrios - 03-01-2016 I think they just did *Hug* RE: Two Sonnets and a Stanza - Kyrios - 05-12-2016 And yet, though that stanza was written for another it applies once more and more than ever for someone else. And if you are interested in why my first sonnet ended, well that can be seen in the poem I don't want you anymore. |
